Let’s Talk About Signs

One of the first things I started seeing as part of my awakening to my connection with those on the other side were the signs they would send. It took some time (and confirmation by several mediums) before I could accept these signs as real.

My father sends Blue Jays - his name was Jay and blue is my favorite color. Often when I’m trying to decide if I’m making the right decision, a blue jay (or jays! Sometimes a whole flock!) will show up right when I’m pondering, and I’ll know that my dad is giving me a thumbs up.

My grandmother was an unwavering fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and rarely missed a game when she was alive. She sends me red and yellow cardinals almost daily, but especially when I’m missing her or needing guidance. Often they will fly right in front of me while walking or driving, to really drive the point home - I’m here!

My mother-in-law almost always has ladybugs in her house, it doesn’t matter what time of year. I always thought they were her mother’s way of communicating, but then I remembered that the ladybugs were in her mother’s house as well when she was alive - it was her father sending those ladybugs. And now when I see a ladybug in our house, I know that Justin’s grandparents are with us, loving us, rooting us on.

Even as I was thinking about writing this post on my morning walk today, I was thinking about Laura Lynn Jackson’s book Signs. There’s a story near the beginning about a mother waiting to receive a sign from her son that passed, and knowing that it would be deer. There is a beautiful description of an interaction she had with a rare Key Deer that brought me to tears. Just as I had this thought, you guessed it, a lone white tailed deer emerged from in between two houses and crossed the road in front of us.

All of this to say, our loved ones are always looking for ways to show us that they are with us whenever we need them. When I’m feeling lost or sad, all it takes is hearing a cardinal’s song or seeing a blue jay watching us from the tree outside our front window.

What about you? Have you experienced these messages through signs?
